New Orleans & Princess and the Frog

Initially, the only two impressions I had of Louisiana was: 1. the photos of the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, and 2. the disney movie the Princess and the Frog. Luckily, I was able to both break and enhance those images today. Downtown New Orleans was nothing I expected, but everything I was glad to see. The live music, crazy lights, crowded streets, and interesting people really brought the city to life. And, like in the movie the Princess and the Frog, I finally tried the beignets at Cafe Du Monde. The only downside to this trip, will be remembering its not a vacation. I’m excited and a little nervous, but this will definitely be interesting. I still need to finish my government paper…the only thing I’m dreading now.
